Just back from Villa my thoughts before reading down the board

Bit a a crazy game. We could have lost by 6 could even of drawn if the (harsh) handball before the 4th and deflected goal hadn't gone in. We were definitely in the ascendancy before the deflected goal and I thought we were getting on top.

Murphy, Reed and Gunn all,had excellent games I thought (on reflection) we just made too many changes to really gel.

Defensively we were poor and out gunned / muscled several times. Stiepermann looked ok in patches but seemed like an eager puppy and left Russ (who did not have his finest game it is fair to say) with no out ball time and time again if he was meant to be playing left mid.

Vrancic was steady and Naismith rarely gave the ball away but without Maddison or Wes on the field the only real creativity came from Josh. Cam gave effort but Nelson is clearly a level above him and it is difficult to understand why he didn't start.

All in all, I remain patient and hope others do too. It will come together I am sure.
