That was the bit that didn't make sense to me

Naismith, and also Jerome and Wildschut, are very decent players when you play on the counter attack and in an open system. But they're all pretty poor when there is a lack of space and more 1-2s and tight round-the-corner passes are needed. Seemed strange to start all three of them if the plan was to dominate possession and try to pick the lock to create chances.
