Relatively poor teams could sit back and soak up everything we had to offer, and inevitably we'd offer up a defensive blunder, (Charlton, Rotherham, Birmingham, Wigan, probably others too).
If we can't break teams down that sit across their 18 yard box, we've got a problem.
It might well be that we do better on the road that we do at home. Against Fulham, we benefitted from their attacking approach.
Lots to think about, still quite a bit to be positive about, but work to be done to make us a more effective team, both defensively and in the attacking third.
I completely agree that we should mix it up a little at points. Not aimless hoofing, but longer passes to spread the play quickly or a dink over the top to turn defenders round and put them under pressure.
