she will flirt with that mad queen aspect but never actually succumb to it. She's been pretty brutal in the past - crucifying those people not *all* of whom could have been responsible for the horrors she was fighting - and her instincts have been a bit burn-them-all; but she's shown herself to have a good heart, empathy and compassion along the way. Like all the characters (well, most) she's complex and multi dimensional. Having threatened death she could have done nothing other than kill the Tarlys for refusing to bend the knee or she would have lost all respect (c.f. Jaime's line to the Freys last season at the Blackwater siege).
As well as the absolute is she another mad monarch or not, there's also the question of the extent to which Tyrion and Varys in particular worry that she might be and what that might lead them to do.
The more I think about it the more I feel Jorah is for the chop soon, though as I say that does make the whole greyscale thing a bit pointless as it didn't actually do anything for the story (in the books JonCon has it which is a whole different thing). I do think having him as a wight would have an interesting effect on Dany, one way or the other (maybe it would push her off the cliff...) - and doubtless Cersei will seek to use the war for the dawn as a means to weaken and eventually defeat Dany (but she'll probably die before that actually happens).
