Most other countries have ultras who create a huge amount of noise and colour BEFORE the game in order to create atmosphere and intimidate the opposition. It's never been a feature of English football although arguably terraces had a more natural version of ultra culture to them. E.g. The Kop, even the old Barclay.
The atmosphere at Carrow Road, and other grounds, has got worse and worse over the years and anything that addresses that is welcome in my book.
Genuine supporters / ultras have unconditional love for their team and will support them for the full 90 minutes. Getting behind them EVEN more if they are struggling or playing badly. The players have repeatedly said that this helps and that booing is counterproductive.
In contrast, many modern fans see football as a transaction and form of entertainment where support is conditional on the quality of the product. That is what Sky / premier league has done to football. And it's rubbish.
