When you have a lot of creative players and only 1 striker.......

then there shouldn't be such a need to risk the full-backs being caught out of position so far up the pitch; particularly when the oppo is quick on the counter-attack.

The way I see it... first and foremost, full-backs should be good at defending. It should be a bonus if they are also good at going forwards as a makeshift winger.

You have to be a great full-back/wing-back (Roberto Carlos) to be able to play that position successfully.
