Funnily enough of all the Hughes poems, I never liked Crow!

That quote was give us as an essay title. I think we all struggled with its meaning, let alone trying to answer it properly.

I do think Hughes is really good at describing the power in natural objects. Have you read Snowdrop for example where he give this image of a snowdrop 'brutal as the stars' surviving the frozen winter?

I can remember these poems (and lots of his others!) really
easily after 37years so they've clearly made a big impact on me but it's very unfair of me to dis other poets in contrast as I haven't read or studied another poet to the same extent. Maybe we'd all have loved Wordsworth!
