Well 480 to be precise (and if the reported attendance figures are correct). Plus it certainly wasn't a Valley of "death" but one of nightly shirt pulls, arm holding and ankle biting so coming away without injuries was certainly a bonus.
Herr Farke was justified in being underwhelmed by the first half. Charlton may have shaded it in terms of chances and possession even if we did have more quality. Wildschutt had a blinder and improved as he gained confidence. Took his chance with a smart finish.
I thought Reed was more than capable as the holding "1" in front of the back four, certainly pushing Tettey if not first choice.
Maddison showed some quality and could be something special. My worry is that he'll be targeted by Championship bully-boy cloggers who will see an easy way to stifle us and possibly crock him. Fingers crossed that he can jump, hurdle or heals quickly.
Josh was a no show, not sure if this is connected to Jacob's move, but he needs to sort himself out.
Naismith improved as game went on, he, Olive and Camjam all missed chances but I'll put it down to pre-season rustiness. Cam worked as always when he came on.
Vrancic didn't really get into the game neither did the other subs.
Zimmerman looked a bit laboured but both Husband and Godfrey were pretty solid with the latter continuing to show much promise of a future gem.
Tidy, comfortable but not outstanding. Opposition were strong but faded second half.
I'm still quietly confident... but I always am 😁
