When I was young - not *that* long ago - the Valley was absolutely massive

About 70,000 or something. As late as the early 80s I think. Always struck me as very odd that there was this huge ground in South London. With Charlton playing there in front of crowds of about 5,000.

Did they all congregate in one corner? Or spread themselves evenly out around the ground? No idea.
