Labour promised to scrap tuition fees as from this year.......

if they had won the general election. Labour later said they would look to see what help could be given to those people with existing student debts because they are currently being changed high interest rates. There was no promise to completely scrap those debts.

The Tories are telling porkie pies trying to twist this into a claim that Labour promised to scrap all existing student debts. It shows how desperate the Tories have become.
