Doubt it. Brits haven't taken him to their hearts, for various reasons

- question over his Britishness
- lack of charisma
- all the controversy around Sky / British cycling
- lack of genuine interest in cycling

Would have to be a very quiet year for British sport for him to have much of a chance.
