In London, one of the first things that got a new place in the apartment from Sebastian Polter was a union cup made of sheet metal. "Iron" stands for it. Or better stood. "The lettering has gone away from the many washing-up. Meanwhile, I have a new Union cup, a larger, because more coffee is pure, "grins Polti. Memories of that time are still high, on Saturday the 1. FC Union kicks in the last test against the Queens Park Rangers (15:30 clock).
Against the club, to which Polter went after a Union season and from which the iron bosses for the intra-internal record quantities of some 1.6 million euro recovered. "The fact that this game is going to happen, I have already noticed during the negotiations about my return," admits Polter. When he heard of his planned team trip in the summer break from his former team-mates, to whom he was still in touch, he knew.
"Of course, I'm looking forward to seeing the guys again," says Polter, who was celebrated on his return to the Iron Age, as if he had never been away. Does he miss London? "Not really. The language might be a bit because I've learned English as a world language really well in time and everyday, "he says.
Does not sound like melancholy. And also not as if he would definitely recommend the move to the second English league. Especially not his good buddy Toni Leistner. Again and again, billions of objects boiled up. "Of course we're talking about it, I'm telling Pros and Cons. He also tried to get me out of England. So what am I to tell him now? I've also gone, "says Polter realistically.
Still, he wipes the subject from the table. "The club has clearly said that he does not want to let him go. And Toni is professional. He would never let a sideman hang. I know that Toni is here with his head. "The subject of English football plays a role for both, therefore, only tomorrow - on the pitch during the test against QPR.
