I think the issue with Snodgrass...

was not his personal ability or workrate but the position on the right where he played, which tended to make him look good and those around him look bad. His one-footedness and his need to permanently stop and go back onto his left foot before crossing made every striker he played with (even Holty, who looked a shadow of the season before) look poor because they never got an early ball to attack and the defenders always got time to get in position.
