a long commute on the train is doable if you can work and cut office time as a result.

If it's a full day in the office plus working on train then it will become very dull very quickly (having done a stint of a few months of 3 days of London meetings per week - that was more than enough for me).

When looking at London opportunities these days I factor in the cost of cheap digs/subsistence costs for 3-4 nights to see if it stacks up financially. Rarely does other than for a career step up.

Also massively depends on your life situation - if I was back in my 20s and single I would take it. As a grumpy middle aged father of 3 it would kill me and my home life now.
