Player Ratings

Green 7 - not much to do, 1 good save in the second half and wasn't much he could do with the goal.

Fleming 6 - Out of position but solid didn't do much wrong.

Doherty 7 - Solid and caused the goal.

Rehman 6 - Strong in the air but was turned far too easily by Parkin (?!?) several times.

Drury 6 - Poor first half but improved in the 2nd half, appears to be a shadow of the player we had 2/3 years ago.

Johanson 5 - Looked lost on the wing and struggled to get in to the game.

Hughes - 5 Good game by his standards, hustled a lot but was summed up by a misplaced 10 yard pass which miss the target by about 10 yards! My only hope is - look at the difference he has made to Reading by leaving.

Safri 7 - The only creative option at the club (in that he can play the ball forward with some accuracy rather than hoofing it), but appears incapable of playing 3 games in a row without injury.

Huckerby 6 - Another shadow of what he was. Appears completely lacking in confidence and belief. The coaching concerns me cos on 3 occassions Huckerby knocked a ball inside and then stood on watched - when a simple pass and move (the old one-two or give and go) would have put us through. Only came into the game when the substitutions were made.

Thorne 4 - Playing in green doesn't help his game as the camouflage aspect makes him look even more anonymous.

Earnshaw 6 - Starved of the ball most of the game and had to drop into midfield to at least get some ball. Looked our most dangerous player thoughout and with service will do well.

Subs:
McVeigh 8 - Looked composed and skillful (something sadly lacking form the rest of the team) and offered us an option out wide.

McKenzie 8 - Impressive, changed the tempo of the game - chased everything, looked lively and worked well with Earnshaw - also took less than a minute to win our first header.

Worthington 4 - sat down all game until the last 10 minutes, made the substitutions too late, earlier could have bagged us all 3 points. Put out a team that looks poorly coached and lacking in confidence. Summed up by throwing early on where we had no one to throw it to. Huckerby has forgotten how to give and go. Team needs a strong leader before it is too late.

Hull 5 - How do we make poor teams look good? Defender who scored should be an olympic high jumper. Fortunately they lacking in confidence last 10 and sat right off us allowing us to attack until we scored. The baldy on the wing must be the worst player I have ever seen - yet if Sven was there he'd have him in the squad.
