This league is full of badly run clubs who are bigger than us (Leeds, Villa, Wolves, Birmingham, Forest arguably, and the absolute car crash that is Sunderland). Well-run or big spending smaller clubs get out of this league and/or stay in the Prem all the time (Brighton and Huddersfield; Burnley, Bournemouth, Watford etc).
If we wanted a model for the future, it might be some kind of cross between Swansea and Burnley I suppose. Swansea for the football they've often played; Burnley for their patience and good husbandry.
But in the end, it's up to us to forge our own identity: not some incorrigibly soft "Norwich City way", but which makes a virtue out of a necessity, just as we did in the late 80s and early 90s.
