Disaster was sewn by the contracts retaining so many lads on £40k p/w in the champs

And because they were turd at football nobody in their right mind would pay us money for their services.

It has been building since Lambert left. His model of cheaper lower league/profile lads desperate to impress really suited a club of our limited means .

Hoots trying to get proven premier lge lads was ok, but began the inevitable ruination of our wage structure. Bassong, Turner and ultimately Naismith etc, average level premier league players but huge earners for us.

It wouldn't be so bad if we were getting a tune out of them, but Bassong spectacularly lost the plot, twice, and Turner effectively retired when Alex Neil took over.

I've heard we need to raise £15m minimum and cut £200k off the weekly wage bill before we can sign anyone, even on a free.

We've basically burnt down the Golden Goose.
