I remember wishing the South Stand were gone, as if it were some sort of eyesore. It's bizarre red and blue seats (were yellow ones really so expensive?) always confused me. Now I (sardonically) miss it, and its old boys, empty seats, ceiling lighting on winter nights, crumbling cement on the way to the seats, and stoke fans getting snowballed by the Barclay. That night I got on the train fresh from the snowballing a copper on Carrow Road and heard a Stoke fan say to his son “I can’t believe those fans behind the goal, reminded me of Millwall!” I sat back and smiled. Also great memories of Wednesday fans with their brass band being out sung with “w**kers… your all f**king w**kers, your all f**king w**kers… might as well f**k off, f**k off f**k off f**k off!”, the Palace fan falling down the stairs whilst on the phone and the Wolves fans ripping out the seats. Good old stand all with Bovril that came with it. I was very accepting of the fact that we were a Division One club and the Premiership didn’t even feel like a possibility. Though it was disgusting how the police dealt with the fans that evening.
