PRIME is not the same as the Kindle Unlimited if that is what you were looking at. Prime membership is 79 a yesr I think and is taken annually. The key benefit is free next day delivery. If you buy a loy of stuff with Amazon then this alone will cover your costs.
With PRIME you also get access to Amazon music (like Spotify) and their own streaming service ( like Netflix). The latter has produced some very good new Amazon exclusive TV content inthe last year or so.
As a Kindle owner with PRIME membership you get access to the Kindle lenders library. This is one free book per month. You will also get access to Kindle First where new books from new authors are tralled with you for free or a nominal 99p.
I have stuck with this as I have found that my reading habits fit within these limits. For the unlimted offer you are paying a further 7.99 monthly. I think it is transacted against a card not direct debit. A key factor is a lot of the major publishers are not OK with it. So you will find a lot of top titles are not available and you have to pay full whack.
