Re. Joe Storey. What I don't understand is why......

Nobody "sorted him out" long before he killed that girl. She was very well known in Norwich apparently. A regular face about town and in places like Rocco's, Mercy VIP and Bar 11. So she knew all the usual faces on the Norwich night life scene.
Storey had head butted her in the street and she posted that picture on line of her hideously swollen eye after he had fractured her eye socket from another beating. People knew what he was like so why didn't some local hard nut who doesn't need an excuse to fight beat the s**t out of him?

I've personally never heard of him until this court case. Was he a hard man?
