overflow is fine. There is just a leak from a seal on a pipe join outside of the tank.... which makes me think I've been told porkies.

However, having phoned others, they say the price quoted is about right even if only a seal on a pipe needs fixing. I might as well go ahead as he is fitting a new ballcock value thing... even though that might not have been what was wrong.... as it means I get a new thingy and the leak fixed... for what others would have charged for fixing the leak.
