more danger of being hit by a car on a 'normal' day than by a terrorist on a school trip

Wherever it is.
This is surely just an overreaction (albeit a kind of understandable one) to something that seems a greater risk than it actually is because of high profile news stories (like people being happy to go in a car but not an aeroplane, because plane crashes make the news and most car crashes don't)
