They're not very expensive depending on the damage.
On the other hand, the car is relatively old so a couple of dings are par for the course.
Personally, I would get a quote and then balance that up against the likely sale price of the car. If you decide not to have it done, it also prevents you from getting ripped off by someone looking to adjust the price by enough to fix it as you know how much it would cost to fix.
Another factor is how you plan to sell. If part exchanging it won't make much difference to the price you're offered (assuming it's not horrific damage!). If you're selling privately it'll make a bit more of a difference.
Sorry, I realise that's not a clear cut answer!
