And 'no deal is better than a bad deal' ? No deal *is* a bad deal.
Nothing about what is coming out of Tory HQ leads me to think that it'll be anything other than a cliff edge no deal scenario. If I was a business leader that's what I would be basing all of my medium term decisions on.
The one crumb of comfort is their recognition of a need for a transitional arrangement which I am cynically assuming might mean a de facto single market arrangement for the foreseeable future but I don't see how that squares with their immigration goals.
In short as a Remainer I am not at all happy with May leading the direction of any negotiations whatsoever. She is too weak and unable to stand up to the UKIP/anti-EU element of her support base.
Corbyn is not ideal, but for him to be in a position of power would mean a grand coalition with parties who have a rather more pro-EU stance than the Tories and consequently we would end up with a somewhat softer Brexit.
