Look at the quality of some of the coaches from the 60's and 70's. Greenwood, Bill Nicholsen, Malcolm Allison, Dave Sexton, John Bond, to name but five.
All practiced and played the sort of football that was taken for granted then, but which we are crying out for now.
Ken Brown came from the West Ham ranks and had us playing some beautiful football. We were lucky enough to have him and the afore-mentioned John Bond. God, it all seems millions of years away now.
Yet Worthington and many of his ilk, all armed to the teeth with UEFA coaching certificates know nothing other than commitment, effort, energy, application etc etc-where-as, with just a love of the game and the respect of their players, the "old school" coaches made the game worth watching with players you were happy to go and see-I'd go to Norwich games looking forward to seeing some of the opposition players, and nearly every team had one that you wanted to see.
Rose tinted spectacles maybe, but these new breed pf coach and manager, they can't hold a candle to those from Greenwoods era.
Is there a 2 minute silence around the UK for him tomorrow-or isn't he so "important" as George Best? I think he deserves one.
