Was instrumental in keeping us up in the first Hughton season

Came second on POTS to Bassong who was also immense.

He was carrying an injury for much of the following season and far less effective, as was Bassong. He was also instrumental in getting us relegated by taking the ball off poor Ricky Van Wolfswinkel in the game against Aston Villa. We lost 1- 0 and Ricky's confidence, already fragile, collapsed.

In a "sliding doors" scenario he lashed it away, we won, he scored 16 that season and we stayed up comfortably.
