Sorry to hear that mate

My own habit (I do lots of speeches at birthdays and dinners and stuff) is to have one run through with someone I trust, i.e. Mrs Git, because I find it's always helpful - she tells me if something doesn't work or is too long.

Plus I always check with the closest people involved if there's something that they really want to be said - that they'd be sad if it wasn't mentioned.

So you might ask your bro that.

I'm sure you'll do it really well because you're a lovely fellow and you loved your dad and that's all that matters

And like Tombs said, dunt blah (the odd swallow is ok!)
