i did the same ting once

not screwed through the water pipe though, that's just daft 😉 but I decided to pull up the landing and bedroom carpets to screw down the squeaky floorboards and turned out the floor had been got by woodworm so the previous occupant treated the good floorbaords down the edges with woodworm destroyer and replaced the totally f**ked floorboards in the middle with s**tty timber offcuts packed with bits of the edp. i replaced the hallway ones and had a brand new floor put in one of the bedrooms luckily i done it a week befor the carpet layers came or i'd have been 🐒 goosed
