Film review: Sing Street [minor spoilers]

For about an hour I really liked this film. The band coming together and making up songs and a video. All good.

Then, just over halfway through, when Back to the Future got mentioned, the music the kids were writing went from Duran Duran to Maroon 5 and the script went full Richard Curtis. Also the older brothers accent went full USA.

It never recovered its early swagger imho. The CGI at the denouement was pitiful. Did they do it on an Amiga.
