Could it be that Pearce is in the frame for the DOF type role rather than manager?

I cannot for the life of me see why he would be in the frame for the managerial role but he presumably does have good contacts in the game and has a track record of working quite well in the England youth set up. Perhaps Hodgson has suggested him as a younger guy who might be suitable for a DOF type position?
