Remember when we sacked Hughton and our options to replace him

As a premier league club initially and then newly relegated side were essentially Adams and Lennon.

This time by all accounts we have the pick of Pardew, Rowett, Warburton or (maybe) Hodgson with no compo for any of them. In that sense the timing of Neil's departure is fortunate. They are not idiots and the first three in particular will feel it won't take a lot to get our current squad performing much better, even before the summer window where the departing players and recent sale of Brady appear to mean we are in decent shape to clear out and improve the squad.

I'm in the unusual position of being ok with any of the four main rumoured candidates so let's hope the club don't manage to pluck a sh*t candidate from somewhere! In terms of the manager who may best be able to get results out of Wes, Pritchard and Maddison perhaps Warburton is worth serious consideration given how he got Brentford playing.
