The schoolboy error is there's no incumbent CEO to make sense of it all sadly

Whatever the dynamic between the players and the manager was has largely got lost in all the noise. McNally I'm guessing would have known who the gurly swats were and who the snides were and who was ripping the piss and informed the new manager accordingly which would have put him in a stronger position than what we have now which is that the players/agents pretty much hold the balance of power.
