As I understand it... clubs taking players on-loan players don't always pay the full wage

but the player going out on-loan might want to be paid more money (or get perks) to make it worth his while living somewhere else... which is understandable to an extent if a player has bought a house and has a family settled in an area... and a club wants him on-loan... he won't want to be worse off and be away from his family to play for a lower level club. Not such a problem for younger players who want an opportunity to gain some experience.
