Personally think the comment about it being a problem for whoever manages next season

is just a direct plea to the board to stick with him.

Most of our older players don't even play (apart from Wessi).. Turner, Whittaker, McGovern and all the rest are like 30 so still have another couple of seasons in them.

"You could sack me and pay me off but still be stuck with the same problem next season whoever is in charge"

He's playing the board and they are falling for it imho.
