The piece that Davitt wrote about the CEO search less than a week ago wasn't so forthright

In that article he wrote:

"Norwich need to get it right on the grass and in the boardroom. If that requires a period of reflection and a detailed analysis of what has gone wrong in recent times then few would argue it is the best course of action."

On the one hand he is making the case for time yet on the otherr, for divorce and though I think he is right on the second count, I don't believe it is going to happen. They'll continue ditherring on both.

There doesn't seem to be any will at the club to take things by the scruff of the neck. All these decisions (or rather lack of them) point to a board, and principally the majority shareholders that are unfit for purpose and have been since Bowkett and McNally, for all his faults, left in quick succession.

The time for considering 'a fresh approach' as Ed Balls put it was last year, not one year on from McNally's departure.

As far as the search for a CEO goes, we have no reason to believe there is any time for reflection being taken, or any more thorough a search underway than last summer when we waited months for Delia's best friend in football to pass on his outgoing CEO.

Likewise, I doubt they've even considered who might come in as manager if Alex Neil does leave.

Fresh approach? With Delia and Michael I doubt it. It will probably be anotherr case of taking the route of least resistance. Just as with the appointments of Gunn and Adams, just as with Moxey's appointment, just as with bringing Ed Balls in as Chairman, just as with giving Ricky Martin yet another promotion.

The most sustained period of success under Delia and Michael's ownership came when they were foced to make changes by the banks while they took a back seat. Some proper business acumen and responsibility for decision making saw progress and I don't see anything like that desire for change manifesting itself with the current owners and board. Nor, with our current and relative financial stability are we likely to see changes to the board itself.

Calling for change or arguing the case for time won't make the slightest bit of difference until their is real change at the top.
