I don't think the board think he's doing a good enough job...

...but I reckon they went for AN in the first place because they wanted to invest in a young manager who they wanted in place for 10 years. Someone who would bring through young players and have a long term vision everyone could buy into and share, whilst bucking the trend of hiring and firing in football.

The board probably made a pact at the very beginning that they would stick with him through thick and thin because they want longevity and believe him a good manager.

I kind of feel sorry for them in a way 'cos its an admirable approach if this is the case, but for me Jerome's comments yesterday almost make AN's position untenable.
