he only settled for it after the final whistle to be fair to him

i'm sure he pondered if it was worth leaving the lads on to see if they could turn the game round but once he'd worked out that the final whistle literally meant the end of the game he quite simply gave up trying to even get a draw and took the lads off the pitch. a better manager would have got the result changed.
