I went to the Coventry game on the opening day and was seriously worried then.

The moment I saw Charlton and Hughes playing together in midfield I thought we were going to have problems. The entire performance was very distracted, very dispassionate, and, I thought, was a cause for concern.

At the time I thought it might just be a matter of blooding the new players - particularly Marney (who I thought could have been a decent player for us at this level) and Louis-Jean. I wasn't sure that Hughes would ever be a good player for us, and I was proved right on that instinct.

We have been awful pretty much all season.
