My mind was not made up on which way I would vote on Brexit until about an hour before I voted even though in terms of my fundamental beliefs I was a natural outer.
Are we all going to be left worse off as a result of Brexit. Impossible to tell at this stage and arguably impossible to ever tell because if we leave we will never know how things would have panned out had we stayed. However as an example of the spin that people were faced with all of those studies (which people largely now admit were pessimistic and assumed little upside) still predicted economic growth and that we would be better off in 2030 than we are now. They just predicted that we would be a little less better off in 2030 if we left than if we stayed in. But that's not what was fed to the public - it was all "Brexit will make you x worse off."
Both sides were as bad as each other admittedly but really it was a pathetic, media and spin soundbite driven campaign all round where genuine, quality debate was often drowned out. But that's just modern politics/life/media as this whole Trump fiasco also shows.
