Celeron is s**t. Hey, for the sake of 150 quid I would not choose the cheaper of these

options. Your daughter will be frustrated with the performance of the Lenovo one very quickly and as Windows updates and new web and software trends will demand far more power very very quickly, you will end up having to buy twice in the period that the 400 quid one will do her.

First one clearly has a far superior battery (9.5 hrs vs 3 hrs) which means less charge cycles and longer lifetime before you need to replace it (batteries typically have a FAR shorter guarantee period than the laptop itself and are not included within the main guarantee).

Secondly Celeron is not a powerful processor by a long means. The i5 is far superior (although in itself not that powerful these days). As the Lenovo (avoid at all costs) specs tell you, the Celeron is for basic usage ("for basic tasks like web browsing").

The HP also has double the RAM for a start.
