Always booked villa's, flights, car hire etc direct.

Reckon I save 30% to 70% on average. What I would say is on long haul flights I did book direct with China air even though it cost a couple of hundred more on my NZ flights cause if you book through a third party and the carrier changes the itinery you are not covered by the third party. China air were fine but did change the flight times meaning I would have missed the next flight.
