Pompey U23 4 - 0 City U23

The fog drifting over Westleigh Park was such that you could have been in a Sherlock Holmes' episode of the Basil Rathbone vintage. Whilst this may have been similar to the smoke from "Hell" where triallist Jem Karakan has recently been playing, he certainly didn't look at home on a bitter night on the edge of the Leigh Park estate... not a place to venture lightly after dark (look on t'internet children).

A City side with no substantial first team experience were out muscled by a strong Pompey outfit whose attacking pair of Kabamba and Lowe troubled our defence all evening. City played some nice football in patches but didn't really create a lot. However the Pompey keeper made three quality saves to deny the few clear chances that came our way.

A Lowe hat trick and a Kabamba goal saw Pompey home comfortably and City drop from 2nd to 4th in this Premier League Cup group.
