Just watched the penalty in 1/4 speed on youtube

Wes cleverly knocked the ball beyond the (reckless) challenge of the keeper and then quite deliberately fell into his leg.

If he'd carried on running I suspect he'd have been naturally tripped over though.

So it was a dive. And another dive to the floor after for the red.
