Indeed - we CAN'T realistically sign anyone on big contracts

With just over a year of parachute payments left any new big contracts will probably bankrupt us.

This is, of course, the point of parachute payments - they are there to allow to you to sign players on big contracts while you are in the Prem (and not be bankrupted by them if you get relegated). They are not there to allow you to issue big contracts while in the Championship (no benefit to the Prem in that, so why would they pay for it)
