That's a bit harsh

There may have been a gentlemens agreement after the game that....but consider the players minds when (if made collectively) they made this decision - after just seeing a team mates relative die and the emotions that he and others would have been dealing with....

Yes, there may have only been 4ish minutes to play with yourselves leading 1-0.....but a goal could have been possible none the less......so consider this....

The next day, some / many of the players within a calmer, better mind set may have felt they made a decision they regretted on Saturday......a decision made within fragile mind sets, a decision that they now wish to retract, and want to actually play the game (or even remaining minutes depending on decisions / rules) as to show a sign of respect or determination to try and go through to the next round in memory of the players relative.....

Would you maybe not also show such determination in memory of some one?
