Believe the hype, it was better than I ever imagined. Drove about 3000km in 23 days

But so so easy as country is empty. Went from Christchurch up to Hamner Springs spa town as Kaikoura road was still blocked, then up top of island to Nelson. Down West coast to near Greymouth then through/over Franz Josef glacier to Queenstown for Xmas then back to Christchurch for new year. Did skydive, jet boat, quads up mountains, luge at top of cable car in Queenstown trip to Milford Sound etc etc. Bank balance took a hammering but so what. I can now understand why eldest is trying for residency, such a beautiful beautiful country and no one there. Laid back beyond belief and health and safety sensible unlike here. Didn't want to come home and bloody hard leaving Luke again. You will love the place only hard bit is travelling - I left flights a bit late so outgoing had a 7 hour in Amsterdam followed by a 12 in Taipei coming back had a 19 in Taipei but had a free tour into Taipei itself, my god is that place mental - 20 million people crammed in. I would move to NZ tomorrow but too old I'm afraid so will make do with visits. Fantastic country all its cracked up to be and the kiwis were so friendly throughout.
