Bowkett was a businessman, and it was great having a hardnosed businessman as our chairman. He brought business skills to the club (skills sadly lacking on the board). So seeing him undertake other business enterprises was never going to inflame any fans.
Balls has no business skills. He's a failed politician and an economist. So he didn't really bring anything to the club which we needed. Every time he goes off and does something "celebby" it just serves as a reminder to those people who thought he wasn't a very good appointment in the first place that his skill set isn't what we need.
I don't really give a toss any more, the Times article made me realise how futile it is getting annoyed about delia treating the club as her hobby because that's what it is. So if it makes her feel good to appoint Balls because she's Labour and he's a fan, there we go. No point getting irritated by it.
