Considering 2016's total spend, I'm surprised we aren't in even deeper s**t

I'm convinced Bowkett wasn't ok with the proposed shoring up of our Premier League status with what happened in January and that played a part in his departure.

The outlay for Klose and Naismith makes the eyes water while the Jarvis signing doesn't need hindsight to be questionable at the time.

The sum of January's activity does however make what did happen in the summer even more baffling now we are in a situation where we have to unload. The Canos and Pritchard signings were a complete waste of cash as was, at this stage, the signing of Maddison 12 months ago.

That we have to sell is no real surprise but because we have to do it because we have bought players that aren't even in the side or on the bench is ridiculous.
