You can never prove how much of any poor form is actually down to the manager. If every manager in the division did an absolutely brilliant job exactly the same number of teams would do badly as happens now here - so if those teams tried to sack their manager they would be sacking someone doing a brilliant job, which isn't allowed.
AN could argue that he didn't do a bad job, just that the managers of teams we played again did a brilliant job. Or that he couldn't get the players he wanted in because of the club's poor recruitment team or the costs of contracts he inherited. Or any number of other things...
And nobody could ever say with certainty that he was wrong.
