I know some of these digs are aimed at me (amongst others) - but to respond: our beloved joint majority shareholder shouldn't be going around doing interviews saying she doesn't entertain offers for the club; or that she wants a failing manager to stay for 10 years (but then, this is the woman who called Nigel Worthington "our Wenger" in Summer 2004). And the club shouldn't be refusing interviews with the local press or subjecting us to 10 tons of bulls**t via the Chief Executive.
Yes, top level football is hard. Very hard. Most clubs fail at different times. But very few keep making the same mistakes again and again; take the fans for granted in quite the stupefyingly patronising way ours does (pretending to be all about the fans, at the same time as literally treating it as the family toy); or make excuses about lack of finance while taking perverse pride in not looking for new finance or, for that matter, new ownership.
This malaise isn't just about the manager or the squad. I've rarely seen this forum so plain depressed. We hit a glass ceiling; having smashed our heads hard, we're now plummeting to Earth. And I think most posters on here recognise this is palpably different from, say, two years ago. There's no vision, no plan, and it would appear, no pot to piss in either.
That means trouble - and if the owner can't stand the heat, she should get out of the kitchen.
